Christmas Vacation

Last year Quinton started a tradition of taking a vacation the week of Christmas. Its fun to get away from all the busyness and just enjoy some family time. This year we went to San Francisco. We stayed in a quaint little hotel that overlooked the main street of Chinatown.

After we arrived on Sunday we went to Grace Cathedral to hear a concert by the men and boys choir. It was lovely. Monday we spent figuring out the bus system and walking all over the place to see lots of areas in the city we had never explored. It was fun to see the Cliff House and enjoy brunch there. Then it was off to the Golden Gate Bridge where we walked around for a while. We did find out in our wandering that most museums are closed on Monday but didn't know this till after we had walked around quite a while. So instead we headed for Coit Tower thinking surely it would be open, but after making the long trek up a really, really tall hill we found out it was closed for repairs. Oh well, it was still fun. We wound up the day with some Dim Sum for supper back at our hotel and later a cable car ride in the dark and a walk along the piers. Tuesday we had a great time going though the Exploratorium (a big hands on science museum) before heading home.

All ready to head out for a great day of exploring
